The additive lowers the combustion temperature of soot particles by approximately 100 degrees Celsius, enabling the DPF to regenerate even under partial engine load conditions. Without this additive, soot combustion requires around 800°C, but with it, regeneration can occur at about 400°C. This significantly improves filter efficiency and longevity.
